Making a Statement

Writing an artist statement is not as easy as it seems. Spent the better part of tonight’s class working on two lists of 10 things that my art is/is not, then putting down four sentences describing a work, the materials, historical backing and a conclusion. I’m still nowhere near finished with coming up with one. How to approach this knowing I use drawing, painting and photography for my works? I have no effing clue, focus on one medium perhaps. What I can’t do with drawing I can do painting, the same goes for photography. Fuuuuuuuck!

  1. Thanks for the advice, I’ll be sure to keep that in mind for my statement. Most definitely, today’s art goes beyond boundaries. Technology has made sure of that. I’ll work out a draft and send it over soon enough. Thanks again.
